Born at Windsor Castle on November 13, 1312. He was crowned King of England on January 29, 1327, shortly after his father was deposed. A regency was appointed while he was still a minor, but his mother Isabella and her lover Roger Mortimer (Y260 or possibly father of Y260), Earl of March, held actual power. When Edward assumed control of the government in 1330, he arrested and hanged Mortimer and imprisoned Isabella. He was married in York Minster on January 24, 1328, to Phillipa (D533). He was involved in many wars with Scotland and France, and won major victories at Crecy in 1346 and Calais in 1347. He died at Shone, now called Richmond, on June 21, 1377. He is buried at Westminster Abbey. Parents: EDWARD II (E2) and ISABELLA (E3). Siblings:
1) John. Of Eltham.
2) Eleanor.
3) Joan. Of the Tower.
